Life at Valley Vineyard

Why the first eight weeks matter

Long before a puppy meets their family, the foundations of confidence, calm and trust are being laid. A closer look at the care behind every Valley Vineyard puppy.

Adopting a Valley Vineyard Labradoodle goes beyond the fact that you are getting a healthy pup from a quality breeder that has done disease and medical testing on each parent we breed – and the puppy comes to you conditioned and temperament tested. We also have invested a great amount of time into each pup daily, from the biosensor neurological stimulation steps starting at four days old, to litter box training (it matters!), sound conditioning, and all the extra things we do to help create a great temperament in each pup for life! While with us, we've introduced each pup to blow dryers, vacuums, crates, lots of holding and touch conditioning, and we’ve spent a lot of time getting to know each puppy – not just through observation – but through daily intentional interaction in one-on-one sessions so that they are learning to bond and experiencing "scary" things, before their first fear stage sets in.

We finish up our final days with each pup doing temperament testing, crate training and making sure each pup is comfortable on leash. We don't see many breeders doing all the work that we do here, but we can't imagine doing it any other way because we know that every step in each stage of development matters.

We won't offer you a puppy unless we feel strongly that the pup has the best genetics for a healthy life, and has shown all the qualities to have an amazing temperament! We have a formula that works, and our testimonials say so. We've laid the best foundation possible, and the rest is up to you to continue socializing and raising your pup right to be a wonderful family member for many years to come.
