We love Baxter & Bella (BaxterandBella.com, use code VALLEYVINEYARD for a discount.) It's a great online training program that offers lifetime support! We kept hearing about Baxter & Bella from our puppy families, so we added them to our most recommended list. We continue to hear great things about them. If you have a local trainer that can help, that's great too! We also highly recommend that you continue crate training your puppy throughout puppyhood. This is critical for their continued sense of security and temperament conditioning. The crate becomes their safe "den" and they learn to settle down and be content by themselves, hold their bladder and feel at peace. All puppies should go through basic obedience training before they reach six months of age, if not sooner. Daily walks, playtime and lots of human interaction and socialization is critical throughout puppyhood. Pups should be protected from traumatic experiences and given ongoing positive reinforcement in a calm, stable environment with lots of consistency and routine. Dogs are creatures of habit and thrive on regular routines and knowing what to expect!
