Due to increasing staffing costs, supplies, vet bills and taxes, we are increasing the cost of our puppy adoption for the first time in years. We limit how many litters we do each year, to focus on each individual pup, and to go beyond what most other breeders are doing. We are committed to investing an incredible amount of time into conditioning each and every pup. Bio sensor steps, crate training, leash training, and sound and sight conditioning, are just some of the extra efforts we put into our pups.
Our adoption cost is $3,600.00 for any deposits received after July 1, 2024. (Because we are in Oregon, you will not pay sales tax.) A non-refundable $500.00 deposit is required to reserve a puppy and this will be applied toward the purchase price. The balance is due the week of receiving your pup.
Once you are placed on your desired litter’s reservation list, we will send you birth announcements when your litter arrives, as well as updates with pictures (and occasional videos on Facebook or Instagram) as your puppy grows. We want you to share in the process as you are “expecting”. We periodically hold open houses at our home for puppy families to come in to visit, and this is based on our availability.
When the puppies reach seven weeks, we will conduct temperament testing on each puppy individually. We find that each and every puppy fully passes each of the testing below. The professionals that have evaluated our litters so far, have agreed! What may vary is energy level and some varying personality traits that start to show at around seven weeks of age and will be influenced more by the environment, personalities, and training styles of their forever families.
With this insight, we help you with YOUR selection in choosing a puppy that is right for you! These are the things we study in the testing:
Social Attraction – degree of social attraction to people, confidence or dependence.
Following – willingness to follow a person.
Restraint – degree of dominant or submissive tendency, and ease of handling in difficult situations.
Social Dominance – degree of acceptance of social dominance by a person.
Elevation – degree of accepting dominance while in a position of no control, such as at the veterinarian or groomer.
Retrieving – degree of willingness to do something for you. Together with Social Attraction and Following a key indicator for ease or difficulty in training.
Touch Sensitivity – degree of sensitivity to touch and a key indicator to the type of training equipment required.
Sound Sensitivity – degree of sensitivity to sound, such as loud noises or thunderstorms.
Sight Sensitivity – degree of response to a “scary” objects not yet introduced to pup to test their fear of strange and new objects that are present.
Stability – degree of startle response to a strange object.
What You Will Receive with your new Pup
When you come to pick up your puppy from us, we send each puppy home with:
- Copies of all health records which includes early vet visits, de-worming and first set of vaccinations
- Microchip to protect your pup from loss
- A 5 lb. bag of a high quality, holistic puppy food
- One soft toy and one rubber/hard toy
- Chew bone
- Blanket with Momma & siblings scents
- New collar
- Grooming illustration
- Doggie poo pick-up bags
Before joining their new families, our puppies are already working on crate training, have been litter box trained (to learn to respect their sleep and play areas) and have been well socialized with our dogs and lots of people (both young and old).
We feed our dogs a top-quality, all natural dog food. We give them car rides, bath time, and most important, emotional conditioning and socialization – all to prepare them for their forever homes. Our puppies are in our home with us, exposed to all the noises of daily living and surrounded by people that love them.
All puppy allocations are done at around 7 weeks of age, after our vet evaluation, and are based on buyer’s choices, along with our recommendations, first come-first serve, and our desire to make the best match for each family and pup.
We make decisions on always what is best for our pups, and with this in mind, in the event that we should become uncomfortable with the “fit” of the adoption, we reserve the right to refuse to sell a puppy up to and including the pick up and/ or delivery time of pup, regardless of a reservation deposit received.

We believe in responsible breeding practices and we are obligated to the strict guidelines of the Australian Labradoodle Association as it relates to ethical and responsible breeding practices. Therefore, all adopted puppies leave our home with a signed agreement for a spay or neuter surgery to be handled by their new owner at the age of 6 -8 mos. Verification of the surgery from a licensed veterinarian must be submitted to Valley Vineyard Labradoodles prior to the contractural deadline.
