What makes us different is our temperament conditioning, Biosensor stimulation, leash training, and early crate training, and we let you choose your pup! We’re proud to be a breeder that follows Puppy Culture. You can read our Doodle Blog pages to learn more about the work we do with each litter.
We understand the importance of the first critical 8 weeks in a pup’s life and the opportunity we have in those earliest days and weeks to impact a dog for life! By the time the puppy goes home to his forever family, fear stages have set in and much of that opportunity is already gone.
Also, we let you choose your puppy! We feel strongly that you should be able to select your pup. This is done in order of our reservation list at seven weeks of age.
As a long time breeder, we’ve also talked to many families that call us because they’ve lost their doodle at an early age, due to disease. This is heartbreaking. We know that sometimes nature or the environment can throw a bad, painful blow to health, but we do our very best to screen our breeding parents fully, to avoid any disease traits that could be passed down. Unfortunately, not all breeders do this. Yet, many disease traits are totally preventable!
We love our puppies and we want everyone to leave us to go on to a “happy ever after” life! It costs more to breed pups this way, but we would never want to compromise health testing or temperament work to cut costs.
Here’s the work we do with each puppy we raise:
– A daily routine of early neurological stimulation (known as the Biosensor program) started when they are only 4 days old.
– Emotional conditioning through each phase of their development to condition them to be confident, relaxed, and without anxiety even in stressful situations, especially important before the fear phase sets in (around 5 weeks of age.)
– Lots of holding and one-on-one to build their confidence, sense of security, and attachment to humans.
– Baths, blow drying, and ongoing socialization with LOTS of different people, and experiences, before they leave our home.
– Litter box training in early weeks to teach them to respect their sleep and play areas and learn that there is a special spot to go potty.
– And crate training before they leave to start preparing them to be alone and away from the litter, to help their transition to their new “den” – a crate. Studies show that puppies that are crate trained are more secure as adult dogs.
