June 14, 2021 – Janie’s pups have left us and their pen is empty. Each of them were ready for home, and we know that they each went to loving, wonderful homes. Because of this litter and these families, we were able to donate $1,500.00 to Amazima Ministries so that a bunch of kids in Uganda can eat, learn and LIVE. Thank you all for trusting us with your new family member! Thank you to all of these great families that chose us!
June 12, 2021 – The pups are almost eight weeks old. Going home! Here are some final pictures we took of them. They are ready for forever families. We can tell they are getting tired of the pen. Home soon….
June 7, 2021 – Tomorrow is puppy selection time! We will begin calls at 3 pm. All of the pups had an excellent report at the vet today! All is well and we are on the home stretch for preparing them for their forever families. We’ve posted their official weights from the vet today on each of their pictures below. They are all very close in size and will all be around 22-25 lbs. expected full grown. Jenna is slightly bigger and might be a few pounds bigger than the rest, maybe growing to 28-29 lbs. They all did great on their temperament testing today. We do the testing to make sure we haven’t missed any steps with any of the pups and to make sure they all have solid temperaments. They all scored with numbers of 3-4 which describes them as:
This pup is outgoing and friendly and will adjust well in situation in which he receives regular training and exercise. He has a flexible temperament that adapts well to different types of environments, is easily controlled, and adaptable with a submissive nature. Easy to train, reliable with kids, and makes a high-quality family pet. Gentle and affectionate.
A couple of the pups are not quite as confident yet, but we know they will catch up as we continue to give them extra attention over the next week. Jillian and Jessica are not quite as adventurous and confident as their siblings. They will become equal in confidence soon, but time will tell if they are more of the followers than the leaders and may need to observe a bit first, unlike their siblings that love to dive into something new without much hesitation. All of the pups though, scored exactly as we want: equal in submissiveness, intelligence, following, tracking and human connection. They watch their humans closely and these will be dogs that will always be loyal and staying very close to their humans.
June 3, 2021 – The time is flying by at our house! Janie’s pups are six weeks old and this week we are focusing on leash training, daily naps alone in crates and weaning from mama. They are loving kibble three times a day now, and mama goes in and nurses in between meals a little bit. They’re getting more and more used to blow dryers and vacuums. And they still love to be held! We walk around the house with each of them daily, carrying them on their backs. This continues to build their submission and trust in humans. As you can see, their coats are filling in more and more. So cute! Here are the pictures we took of them today.
May 29, 2021 – At five weeks old, Janie and Bear’s pups are doing very well. They are slowly starting the weaning process and have been enjoying dishes of mushy kibble to help give mama a break. They are becoming desensitized to all kinds of scary sounds like fireworks, thunderstorms, vacuums, etc. They’ve had lots of baths and are getting used to blow dryers. They are becoming more playful and love to chase, but they still melt in our arms when we pick them up. They are adorable! As you can see….
May 21, 2021 – Janie’s puppies are starting to change fast now! They are becoming more active, a little more steady on their feet, but still sleep a LOT. We started them on litter box training today and sound conditioning is underway! Later this week, we’ll get them out to play and try and get some video footage to post to Instragram so you can see the cutie pies in motion. They’re adorable and we’re in love. Here are the pictures we took of them today. Realizing the white background is not ideal for black faces, but trust us their eyes are easy to see in person! 🙂
May 19, 2021 – Janie and Bear’s pups are four weeks old now. They’re doing very well and growing! We are falling a little behind with nice, individual pictures as we have a little kidney stone issue here with the one taking pictures of this litter (ouch) so we will get caught up with individual pictures on Friday. But here’s what they’re up to this week – just a glimpse of the pack, pictures taken today.
May 11, 2021 – Janie’s pups are three weeks old! They still walk and act like drunken sailors, but their becoming more graceful and alert each day. We are thrilled with each of these pups and thankful for our new sire Bear and the adorable puppies he is bringing us. The pups are through with their bio-sensor training now and are starting to hear. And their temperaments are already so solid! Over the next week, we’ll be starting sound conditioning and will introduce them to lots of “scary” noises to help condition them before their first fear phase sets in. Here are the pictures taken of them today.
May 4, 2021 – Janie and Bear’s puppies are getting more and more chilled out as they continue to work through the daily bio-sensor steps. They continue to do very well, are healthy and thriving and we’re excited about this litter and they’re beautiful coats! Here are the pictures taken of them today, at two weeks old. Their eyes are opening!
May 3, 2021 – Janie’s pups are doing great! Here’s a glimpse of what they’re up to. More pictures posted soon to show them at one week old. 🙂
April 28, 2021 – The puppies are a week old now and continue to thrive. All are eating very well and gaining weight. They are going through the bio-sensor daily for early conditioning (it’s so important for good temperaments) and they are held and massaged daily. Everyone is doing very well! Still no eyes open, and they won’t hear until around three weeks old. Mostly, they will only eat and sleep the first few weeks. Here they are at one week old.
April 20, 2021 – We welcome six new pups from Clara Jane (Janie) and Bear tonight! It was non-eventful and Janie did a great job. All is well with mama and the pups. We welcome Janie’s J litter: Two boys, Jackson and James, and our four girls, Jenna, Julianna, Jessica and Jillian.
The two boys are the tan pup and light, cream parti colored. The rest are girls, including one cow print! (A black/white parti pup). This is going to be a very cute litter. The pups are with our friends home where they are being well cared for with mama. Our friends, the Budds, have helped us before and will care for the pups until they come to our home in a couple of weeks where we will continue all the next levels of conditioning and socialization.
