Sadie and Tucker’s puppies are home

October 21, 2023Sadie and Tucker‘s puppies are home, with their forever families! Our puppy room is empty; always feels a little bittersweet. We feel great about what was accomplished, loved sending each pup off to their new loving families, but an empty puppy room feels . . . .   EMPTY.

Well, we are confident each pup went home to a great family and we are so thankful to each of them! We’re thankful that because they chose us, we get to give back to help ease a little pain and suffering in other dire parts of the world. As our pups bring joy to others, these families help us bring help to others. This week we were able to give $1,800 of the puppy funds to World Relief and Medical Teams International, trusted organizations that provide medical help and relief to victims around the world in crisis situations.

Here are the pups and their new family members!  Thank you to all, and we hope for a great life and lots of joy and companionship with these pups.

October 13, 2023 – As Sadie and Tucker’s puppies are preparing for home, and puppy selection is upon us, here are some notes we wrote up about each pup that we’ve observed. Please know that personalities are just beginning to form at seven weeks of age, so much more will be determined in the weeks and months that follow. We find that our families have a lot to pour into the overall personalities as the pups will pick up on the energy, training style, and environments in their new homes.

Temperament testing went really well and we find that the pups all are doing well on temperament and are so equal in so many categories! They scored completely equal on intelligence, submission and following and tracking their humans. All so important. There are slight variations in sensitivities to “scary” sounds and experiences. Remember that they go in and out of fear stages throughout puppyhood, so you’ll see various reactions throughout. But the key is to continue to socialize, protect from trauma and reward with love and affection for every good behavior.  Important to point out that they all scored exactly equal on what matters most: tracking and bonding to humans. They will all stay close to their humans, very loyal and affectionate. All will want to follow you around the house and where you are, they will be hanging right near by.

They all turned a corner today and did very well in their crates. They all are doing very well on leash as well. All this shows signs of their conditioning and their confidence. They’re even doing some stairs!  Here are some individual notes we thought we could mention on each.

Star– Star will be among the first of the pack to greet a person who approaches the puppy pen. She is happy to be picked up and loves being held (they ALL do!). Once in a while, Star will show a bit of hesitation or shyness in a new situation, but she just takes a minute to assess the situation and then proceeds with confidence. She is a very sweet, loving pup. Very playful with chase and wrestling with the other pups, but very content sitting in a lap or with a chew toy.

Stephanie – Stephanie is very chill. She is most often the last to get up when the puppy pack is awakened. (Very much how Sadie was as a young pup.) She is a very content puppy and stays settled a little longer than others, perhaps just a little less energetic as the rest of the pups. She is still very playful and loves to romp and chase. She does like to come and do things on her own terms a little bit. Being the biggest, she may have some alpha personality traits, but also scored equal on submissiveness to her humans.

Stacey – Though they all scored equal on intelligence in their temperament testing, Stacey seems to have a bit of an edge on intelligence in some specific ways – surely the rest will catch up. Please know that labradoodles, especially those that have gone through the biosensor program, are highly intelligent dogs! She loves to learn and explore. She will be one that will need to be challenged with new things to learn throughout puppyhood. She may bore easily if not provided new learning experiences and a variety of toys etc.   She also is very loving and very content in a lap! She has that desirable quality that she is able to entertain herself. The other pups will get there too – remember they are all developing at a slightly different pace. Some get teeth first, some eyes open first, some show fear first, etc.

Stew – Stew is sweet and playful and just wants to be everybody’s friend. He loves to play and chase and but will stop everything to be picked up for snuggle time. He’s very confident and also affectionate, he always has a kiss for everyone.

Stayton – Stayton is talkative and loves to try to communicate with us humans. He showed that in his earliest weeks. He is a very balanced pup showing confidence, social skills and also playful. He can be slightly reserved in brand new situations, but he also passed all temperament testing showing no timidity. He may always be a bit more sensitive and and be more of a follower than a leader. But he jumps right in once he’s assessed the situation and knows it is good to proceed.

Stetson – Stetson is well balanced and sweet tempered and seems very sure of himself. He is as cuddly as he is playful. He kind of blends with the rest of the pups because he just kind of goes with the flow. He loves to sit for attention and usually one of the first to settle down quickly after playtime. Loves snuggle time as much as the rest.

Stanley – Stanley is one of the first to sit for attention. When we approach the pen, he knows sitting is a must before anything good happens. He gets it! He loves playing and socializing but seems more centered on humans than on toys. Confident pup that can be very playful and high energy, but lives for human snuggle time!

October 12, 2023 – Sadie and Tucker’s puppies are growing up and getting ready for their forever homes.  Almost seven weeks old! This week we’ll be focusing on leash training, continued crate training and learning to be totally separate from mama.   They’re all doing great and we’ve just posted their official weights from the vet (below), and tomorrow we’ll post any temperament or personality traits we see. They all went through temperament testing today, and as we expected, they are all exactly where we want them to be.  Everyone of them is conditioned, socialized and ready for a great life with their new family. As you look at weights, just want to mention that we looked back at Sadie’s puppy weight, and at seven weeks old, she only weighed less than five pounds. Our labradoodles that are closer to the standard size are more in line with the weights below. We can’t say for sure, but we think all of Sadie’s pups will probably be closer to Tucker’s size. (Much larger than she is.) Here are the pictures we took of them today!

October 6, 2023 – Sadie’s puppies are growing up and changing fast now! They’re eating kibble 3 times a day now, and they started crate training this week. So far, they are doing well and it doesn’t take them to long to settle down in a crate. We’ll continue the crate training 1-2 times a day for naps until it’s time for them to leave and continue their crate training at home throughout puppyhood. This is a critical step toward their development and temperament conditioning!  Here they are at six weeks old!

September 30, 2023 – Sadie and Tucker’s puppies are five weeks old now. Time is flying by here and they are doing really well! They are eating mushy kibble three times a day now and are learning to separate from mama. They are conditioned to vacuums, blow dryers and lots of scary sounds. They are mostly nonreactive to new sounds and sites that we introduce them to. We can see some of the fear stage is starting so we continue to up the new experiences and new people for them to meet. The open house next week is another phase in their need for important socialization. They are bonding with us humans now as they redirect their affection from mama to us. They track us and want to follow us and are loving being picked up and held. They still love mama though whenever she comes near! This week we’ll post some video of them during their playtime outside of the pen. They are so cute! Here they are after their bath and blow dry (still done daily, mostly for conditioning.)

September 22, 2023 – Sadie’s pups turned four weeks old! They are hearing fully now and becoming much more interactive with us humans. They wag their tails and come over when we approach the pen. Yes, they’re walking more! We are bringing them out daily for play time and we started litter box training this week. They’re doing well.  They are very smart and as we teach them, they quickly learn each new thing. They still get baths, along with a blow dry, every day (sometimes twice!) as it keeps them free from bacteria at this young age, but mostly, it is excellent conditioning for them.  They listen to scary sounds like fireworks, pounding, thunderstorms, vacuums and other loud noises every day now. They are already so conditioned and non-reactive to it. Just like we want!  Here they are at four weeks old.

September 15, 2023 – Sadie and Tucker’s puppies are three weeks old now and all of them are doing very well. All are healthy and strong, and well on their way to excellent temperaments. We have completed their bio-sensor steps and now they are just starting to hear, so we’ve amped up the noises and are introducing them to lots of “scary” sounds to help them become anxiety-free puppies. The first critical weeks of puppy life is when we introduce them to lots of people, sounds and experiences so that they are used to as much as possible, before the fear stages begin (at 5-7 weeks old.)

As you can see, they’ve opened their eyes!  They’re not really playing or walking much yet, but that is coming soon!  Here they are at three weeks old.

September 8, 2023 – We have a very quiet, plump and happy litter here. Quiet, because Mama Sadie doesn’t miss a squeak and tends to their every need. She’s a loving, protective mama. Grandma and Auntie want to see the litter but she warns them to “Back off!”.   All is well here as they quickly and quietly retreat from Sadie’s domain.

The pups are thriving, gaining weight daily and getting cuter every day. Their eyes are all starting to open, though hard to catch them open since they sleep so much! We’ll show their eyes in next week’s photos. Pigmentation in their noses and paws is darkening now.

Daily they are massaged, bathed under warm running water (they love that!) and going through our bio-sensor steps (of course.)  Touch is still are best way to communicate and condition them at this stage. They barely see, and still can’t hear. (Soon!) They are all nursing well and mama seems so happy in her role.  Here they are at two weeks old!

August 31, 2023 –  On Saturday, August 26, Sadie had a quick and easy, uneventful delivery and brought us seven healthy puppies:  four boys and three girls.  We welcome to our world, the ST Litter:  Stew, Stayton, Stanley, Stetson, Star, Stephanie, and Stacey!  Beautiful, red pups that are all nursing well, gaining weight and thriving.

Mama Sadie settled right in to her motherhood role, and is super attentive, affectionate and careful with her pups. We’re excited about this litter. Today, they are starting on their bio-sensor program steps to neurologically stimulate them.  Experts say that this is the most important step of all of the other conditioning a breeder can do! We’re on it and we’ll continue this for the next couple of weeks. The bio-sensor steps are proven to aid in producing the most intelligent, agile, healthy and anxiety-free pups for life!  Here’s a glimpse of the pups in their earliest hours.

First day of life. For about a week, we don’t have any bedding in the pen because babies can get trapped in it and suffocate. With a clean floor, they can scoot about to get to mama easily.
