Kylie and Nelson’s puppies are home

July 5, 2025 – All of Kylie and Nelson’s puppies are home, and we’re hearing really good reports. The two last pups, Kim and Kristy, left the same day and got to stay together, in a great home! We love getting texts like we got this week, “Slept through the night from the first night, not a peep.”  We know that’s not the story for every pup, as it’s a hard adjustment to leave us and their litter. But we know we’ve readied them for life! Below are our pictures of going-home day. We miss the pups, as it’s always bitter sweet. But we felt so confident they were ready, and it makes it so much easier knowing the pups all went to really good homes!

Because of this litter, and the families that trusted us with their new family member, we were able to donate $2,100.00 to two worthwhile organizations (Our Rescue and the Tim Tebow Foundation) to help rescue and restore some of the most vulnerable children all around the world. We know that this litter and the funds donated will help some kids have a new chance at life. Thank you to all of our wonderful families, and to our staff that helps us and works so hard to help these pups become great family members for life.

June 24, 2025 – Kylie and Nelson’s puppies are ready for home! We’re really enjoying our final days with them! There is a lot of bonding going on here, and it’s always bitter sweet when they have to leave. We’ve loved seeing their progress on leash, in crates, and sitting for attention. They’re nonreactive to storms, and vacuums, blow dryers, fireworks and more! Even shy Karly has come around with confidence in every area. We know they will miss each other terribly, and we will miss them! There will be some adjustment needed (and patience) with each of them as they transition away from us and their litter, and into new homes and new humans. But they’ve got this! We are proud of them. They are so loving and affectionate, come when we call, and settle in our arms on their backs with such trust and submission. They’re going to be wonderful companions to their humans!  Here are some random photos we took of them today so you could all get another glimpse of them as you await pickup day.  Here they are.

June 19, 2025 – Here are some notes that we’ve formulated based on the best assessments we can come up with based on the temperament testing, and the opinions gathered from those of us that are here working with the pups daily. Keep in mind, that the personalities are just starting to form at this young age, and their new home environments, the energy and training styles of their humans and the proper care of the pups will have MUCH to say about the final outcome and temperaments of the pups as they develop.   Keep up with socialization and a proper balance of crate time and human interaction will be key to their proper development. Always reward good behavior! They are so smart and only want to please, you just need to keep telling them and showing them what they are doing right.

The pups are continuing to work on leash training and crate training every day. They also are learning they have to sit for any attention. We ignore or redirect bad behavior. They are getting it more and more.  Today we’ll also be working on “sit” and “Come” commands.

On temperament testing, all of the puppies scored almost identical on intelligence, submission, and socialization. All of the pups love to be held and settle down in our arms immediately when picked up. We see slight differences in confidence, energy levels and sensitivity to new experiences.

Weights are posted below, from our vet visit today.

Here is what we see in each so far:

Karly, 4.3 lbs. –  Very affectionate, gentle and doesn’t like a lot of rough-housing. When the other pups are being rambunctious and energetic, she tends to find a quiet corner or a lap to settle. She does the best in the crate so far, she settles down easily after playtime.  Karly is a little shy. She warms up quickly and loves people. She loves being held, but we are working on her confidence with new surroundings and experiences. She may always be a little more reserved and cautious, but we want her to feel more confident and we know she’ll gain all the confidence she needs in the days to follow.

Kristy, 4.78 lbs. – Very sweet pup that is affectionate and social, is playful and moderate energy and is confident. She loves humans and wants to be held, yet can be independent, playing on her own, away from the other pups. Overall, a well balanced, very social yet independent pup.

Kelly, 4.72 lbs.  – Confident, friendly, affectionate pup. Moderate energy, curious and sweet. Watches us humans closely and is observant and typically the first to sit for attention.

Kaitlyn, 3.6 lbs. – One of the smallest pups in the litter and is sweet and affectionate. She is very snuggly, yet shows an independent side where she is confident to be off on her own, away from the others. She can play hard and then easily settles down in her crate. Moderate energy.

Kim, 4.98 lbs. – From early on, she was one of the favorites around here because of her friendliness and always wanting to be with us humans. She’d walk away from food or play, just to be picked up. A very sweet, loving pup. She is curious and confident, but struggling a little with the crate still. She just wants to be with us!

Keegan, 4.0 lbs. – A fun, playful, energetic pup that is confident and affectionate. He is loving and adventurous. He has a “let’s go!” personality yet settles down immediately in our arms when it’s time to snuggle. He is already fetching and retrieving, and this too shows his eagerness to do and please as directed. Keegan will be happiest with an active family or someone that will take him everywhere, including lots of walking and exploring.

Kip, 5.6 lbs. – is a bit more mellow perhaps then the others. He is not the alpha leader, like his brother. He likes to observe and take things in first before diving in. Kip is affectionate, sweet and a bit more laid back and cautious.

June 18, 2025 – Kylie and Nelson’s puppies are on the home stretch! The pups had a full day of leash training, crate training, play time, baths, blow drying, and photos.  We are in love with these little doodles! Oh, and our temperament tester came early this morning to do temperament testing on each of them. Another full day. 🙂  All of the puppies are doing great!  The only pup that shows a little shyness and lacking confidence this week is Karly. Truly a little sweetheart, and the temperament testing confirmed that she gets extra attention for the next week as we work to build her confidence. She’ll get there!  In every litter, all of the pups develop at different stages, and this is no different. Here are the pictures we took of them today, and we’ll post more information tomorrow, including their individual temperament and personalities we see.   Tomorrow is their vet exam appointments, including vaccinations and microchips.  Here they are at almost seven weeks old!

June 12, 2025 – Kylie and Nelson’s puppies are growing up! They are doing so well. They are socialized, confident, and have grown through so much temperament conditioning. They are exactly where we want them to be at six weeks old. We’re loving each of us, and it’s wonderful seeing them become more independent from mama, and so bonded to humans. They no longer hide from the vacuum cleaner, they sit calmly for their blow drying and they are both submissive and gentle, yet confident and playful.  This week, we introduced them toddlers.  Always a little scary for a young pup, toddlers move and sound different, and can be scary (this was closely supervised!).  We’re excited about this litter, they are going to have the same anxiety-free, loving temperaments as their parents.  Here they are at almost six weeks old!

June 5, 2025 – Kylie and Nelson’s puppies are growing fast. They’re doing great and their temperament conditioning is well underway! They are still getting regular baths and blow drying (for conditioning) and we are introducing them to more and more new sounds and experiences. When we bring them out to play, we’ve also brought out the vacuum, and at this point, they still “run for the hills” and won’t go near it, but we’ll keep working on this to help them to become anxiety-free, laid back, confident pups. They are exactly where we want them to be at this point. They are in the early stages of separating from mama, and they are starting to really bond with us humans. They now greet us when we come to the pen and they want to be held more than anything. They are all very affectionate and love to snuggle. We walk them around on their backs daily, as this helps them to trust us and also conditions them.  We started them on regular mushy food this week, to start the weaning process, and they’re loving it. They are all doing very well.  Here are the pictures we took of them today, at almost five weeks old!

May 29, 2025 – Kylie and Nelson’s puppies will be four weeks old tomorrow. Time is flying here! They can hear now, and they are starting to play and wrestle. We bring them out into a larger play area to play daily now, and we let them explore. All part of building their confidence. Daily now, they are listening to “scary” sounds like thunderstorms, fireworks, vacuums and more. It’s important that we expose them to as much of life’s experiences as we can, before their fear stages begin. They will go in and out of fear stages throughout puppyhood, and the more we can expose them to while in the comfort of mama, their pack, the more confident they will be. Nobody wants a dog filled with anxiety!  All is going well here. Daily, the pups are bathed followed by blow drying. This is also part of their conditioning. Here are the pictures we took of them at almost four weeks old.

May 20, 2025 – Kylie and Nelson’s puppies have opened their eyes and they’re becoming more and more alert.  Still, they mostly sleep and eat, but we woke them up long enough to take some pictures of them!  This is the time where we start to really bond and get attached. We’ve been handling them, massaging them, and bathing them daily for the past couple of weeks, and now they see us. They’re still entirely focused on mama, but they’re very comfortable with human touch, and we even started conditioning them to blow dryers today. They were completely non-reactive because their fear stages have not begun. This is a critical time to continue to condition them to life’s experiences.  They can’t hear yet, but that will happen very soon. Here are the pictures we took of them today.

May 12, 2025 – Kylie and Nelson’s puppies are all doing very well. They continue to gain weight each day, and all are healthy and growing. The pups can’t see yet, but little Kaitlyn is trying to open her eyes today. It won’t be long! Little Kim is trying to walk and soon they’ll being romping around. We can’t wait. As they become active, over the next couple of weeks, we’ll post video of them in the play area.  For now, they are getting massaged and bathed regularly, and we continue the biosensor steps.  These are all steps to condition them and begin the process of creating excellent temperaments, and comfort and bonding with us humans. Here are the pictures we took of them today!

May 7, 2025 – We’re excited to announce that Kylie and Nelson’s puppies are here! On May 2, Kylie brought us seven beautiful, healthy puppies, and all are doing well, gaining weight and thriving.  Kylie delivered five girls, and two boys in colors of black, red and dark chocolate. We are so excited to get chocolate and black puppies in the mix!  Our first labradoodle, our beloved Molly, was a beautiful black girl, with a gorgeous coat. After she retired, it’s been kind of difficult to produce many the black coats in our program. Kylie is a great mama, as expected, and she seems to be thoroughly enjoying motherhood. The delivery was uneventful, and we’re excited to have puppies in our home again!

We’ve already started the puppies on their earliest conditioning, and the most important: the biosensor steps.  We’ll do the biosensor early neurological conditioning with them daily for the next two weeks.

Here they are at five days old!

All of the pups have cute white markings. Once we start posting individual pictures, you’ll see them better. We don’t separate them from mama more than we have to at this young age.
