They’re spread out in locations from Portland to Seattle to Anchorage! There were tears shed as we said good-bye, for sure. One puppy will stay nearby. We have hopes that “Peradoit” will pass all her testing to produce puppies for us some day. All of us involved in their care feel confident that they were ready, wanting out of their pen and ready to start a great life. Some are going to be used for therapy or service work, and for that we are so happy! We love that our pups are being raised to help and heal others, to bring comfort and peace to those that need the companionship of a solid, well-balanced pup! Aside from that, we are so thankful to our families and happy to say that because of them, and the pups we raised, another $2,400 has been donated to Amazima Ministries to help some children in Uganda live! Funds will be used to help educate and feed children in great need.
July 31, 2017 – Synopsis on personality and temperament: our final week.
July 30, 2017 – Emery’s puppies arrived seven weeks ago and we’re in our final week of raising and conditioning them for their forever homes. A great foundation has been set, and for those of you that have been able to visit this litter, you’ve seen the outstanding temperament each of the pups is showing. We love them all! They had their final vet exam two days ago and they are all in excellent health. Weights vary, as we knew they would, and reflect the size differences in mama and sire’s DNA. Sire Basil is 40 lbs. and Mama Emery is close to 50 lbs.. At this point, we can take a good guess as to who will be the larger or smaller in size as adults, and you can see the weights below. They are all doing very well at litter box training and they’ve had a pretty good amount of time in the crate. At the vet’s office, we had to be patient and for nearly two hours the pups sat patiently (quietly!) in the crate. The pups were microchipped, spayed/neutered and had their first vaccines. Pups have been fully wormed. The puppies have had lots of socialization at this point and we know that their forever families will keep this up! They have been exposed to so many new noises and challenges and they continue to reflect that they are confident and secure.
Here they are at seven weeks old!
July 24, 2017 – Emery’s puppies are six weeks old and their temperament is outstanding! They have been socialized, conditioned and are doing very well. Here they are at six weeks old today.

July 16, 2017 – Emery’s puppies turned 5 weeks old. They are getting cuter every week! When they’re not in their pen, or on somebody’s lap, they’re getting some time on the deck outside and also they get to take turns playing in the house. The more they get outings away from their litter, the better for their adjustment and emotional conditioning. The guardian family is doing an outstanding job! The whole family has joined in on loving and caring for these pups. The pups had their nails trimmed this week to help mama in nursing and they continue to nurse well. They’re also eating kibble now too.
The report came this weekend from the DNA testing that we submitted on the sire for each pup. It’s been determined that Basil is the sire for the entire litter. Little Winston’s mating never took, and that was our slight concern from the beginning and why we allowed Basil and Emery to be together as well, during her peak progesterone time. So we have nine more Basil puppies going out into the world! Pups will grow to 40 or 50 lbs. We can already tell the smaller pups from the bigger ones and it will continue to become more clear over the next week or two.
Here they are at five weeks old!
And here are some pictures of the pups just hanging out, at five weeks old.
July 7, 2017 – Emery’s a good mama and taking great care of her babies! The puppies are almost four weeks old, gaining weight and getting stronger every day. Emery’s guardian family is home all day with the pups, rarely leaving them. The pups are showing all the signs of being held and loved all day long. They’re calm and relaxed when picked up, they focus on the person holding them, and are already showing affection. They’re frequently taken out individually from the litter pen, away from their siblings. This is all necessary for their proper development and emotional conditioning. They are litter box trained (mostly) now and started on kibble this week in between nursing. Today they had their baths! (Wish I had a picture of the 9 of them in the family bath tub!) Today we introduced them to new toys. Here they are at almost four weeks old.
July 1, 2017 – Emery’s puppies are three weeks old and all of them are doing very well. Emery continues to be a great mama and the pups are plump from being nursed so well. Emery stays right near by and tends to every squawk. The pups are finished with the Bio-Sensor program and are starting litter box training today. They’re active and moving around a lot, ready for more training. The pups have already been introduced to lots of different people. Experts say that a well-socialized dog should be introduced to 100 unique people by the time they are four months old. We have them well on their way before they even leave us! The pups enjoy being held and have been handled a lot – so important. They had baths today, a photo shoot and then promptly fell right back to sleep. Here they are at three weeks old

June 24, 2017 – Emery’s puppies are two weeks old and their eyes are opening more and more each day! They have more than doubled their weight and are all plump and healthy. They are scooting around a lot by pulling themselves forward with their front legs. They are starting to hear us. Emery’s guardian family is continuing the Bio-Sensor program on each puppy as they go through the steps each day.
June 17, 2017 – The pups will be one week old tomorrow. They’re all eating, growing and looking healthy. Here they are. Their eyes won’t open for a while yet, but they still look cute!

June 11, 2017 – Emery’s puppies have arrived! Late last night, Emery began labor and continued bringing us new pups throughout the night, finishing around 10 am this morning. We have 9 new cutie pies! Or should we say, nine gems?? Welcome to our world: Pearl, Peridot, Diamond, Jasper, Onyx, Topaz, Ruby, Opal and Tanzanite! Emery brought us a litter of beautiful colors. Five girls, four boys and each color has each gender represented. As the picture shows, we have black, cream, apricot and caramel gems that all seem to be healthy and thriving. All pups are solid in color. Now the mama (and the midwives!) need to get some sleep.

June 10, 2017 – Emery is with her guardian family and they are with her 24/7 as they wait and watch. Emery started panting a lot today, so we know it won’t be long. It’s the early stage of labor. Still might be tomorrow before pups arrive. 🙂
